The Subversion team released the second release candidate of their Subversion 1.1 Version Control System on August 10, 2004. A list of changes between the 1.0.x production release and the 1.1 release notes can be found here.
The 1.1 release includes speed improvements, a non BDB file system backend, support for Unix symlinks, and a slew of other bug fixes / enhancements.
Subversion is a version control system that is meant to replace the long standing CVS version control system. The 1.0 version of the product was released on February 23, 2004.
This is an excellent product, and if you currently use CVS or are looking for a version control system for your projects, you should definitely check it out.
