What a difference 10 or so years makes - ish.
I was going through some old photos in my Subversion repository this morning and I came across a picture taken of Kelsi and I in the Woodstock Square when when she was around 3 or 4 years old. As I sat here looking at it I remembered that I had asked Jonna to take a picture of the two of us to send out to some relatives a few months ago and decided to load them both up in The Gimp to take a side by side look at them.

The very first observation I made while looking at these pictures is that back then my hair may have actually been taller than she was at the time. The second thought I had was the surprising realization that I haven’t changed the way I dress in about 10 years. Once I got past these though, I started thinking about how great of a kid she is and how proud I was back then every time I looked at her and the high hopes I had for her.
As I look at the picture on the bottom, I’m reminded of what a great kid shes turned out to be so far. She’s smart, as level headed as a 13 year old can be, gets good grades in school, loves music, and is really everything I had hoped she’d be at her age. She is just one of those kids that makes a dad really proud.
As I finished my little nostalgic episode this morning, I realized how quickly the time has passed and that as I look at my daughter I wouldn’t change a thing about her (aside from maybe having her switch to Linux for her computing needs and having an increased musical appreciation for Steve Vai). I, on the other hand, am getting better — but I don’t think I’m quite there yet. The hair is a little more under control, but I definitely think its about time for a new wardrobe!

Why? Just because your hair looks like it belongs to one of the guys from Winger?
