Japanese Beetle Trap

It took only 4 1/2 days for this to fill up. Note the bag is about 24" long!

Jonna put a “Japanese Beetle Trap” in the back yard. After 4.5 days it was completely full. Ugh.

I took this picture of Kelsi over the weekend and thought it turned out really well. For those who don’t hit the Flickr stream, I’m posting it here to show my complete command of light and - aw nevermind.

Jonna got this awesome shot of the bee on a flower, which she points out is far better than my picture. Wow and DOH!

There’s nothing more amusing than rehashing the same joke for 3 years. Here’s the result of our trip to the Reniassance Faire this year.

Weekend Storms

A weekend at the camper gave us ample opportunity to take pictures of - water. This one is from Sunday morning, which started out nice and then turned into torrents of rain. I was really happy with how this particular picture turned out.

Kids

The next four pictures are the kids shot at trying to do a "who’s next" album cover.

This was taken in August of 2007 on the “Grandma Tour”. The kids decided they would try their take at a random pose “Who’s Next” album cover like picture.

We took a number of them. This was my favorite.

The final result. Notice - there’s no neck.

I guess it is always going to be surprising what is actually popular. This one picture out of more than 3,500 of them is the one that seems to get all the attention, according to Flickr stats as of April 18, 2008.

Old Hardy Boys Books

Hardy Boys Books

I think I had this whole set as a kid.

Jonna and I hit a local antique store yesterday to kill some time and sitting on a shelf I saw these. I am pretty sure I had every one of this set when I was a kid and would spend hours reading these books.

Its cool to run into something every once in a while that is such a powerful anchor that it literally takes you back to lying in your bunk bed reading “The Twisted Claw”.

Google @ Outback Steakhouse

Google @ Outback Steakhouse

So on the Outback Steakhouse coaster tonight I noticed it says "I searched for myself on Google and found nothing". Anyone else think that’s weird?

Found this while browsing around on Flickr and it made me laugh. I didn’t know Outback had “geek” coasters. Maybe only the ones in Austin are this cool …

Zappa Bottle

Kelsi actually found this somewhere and had her mom buy it for me. It’s a bottle of Kill Ugly Radio Beer. There is more info on the brewery that put it out and plans for a commemorative beer for every Zappa album available in this article called Frank: The Beer.
